A charger sample should confirm the configuration you intend to purchase, not merely show that a unit switches on. Check its identity, condition, documents and battery requirements before energizing it. Then arrange qualified evaluation against agreed acceptance criteria. Record the accepted model and revisions so the batch order reproduces the same configuration.
Write the acceptance brief before the sample arrives
List the battery voltage, capacity in Ah, chemistry and charge limits. Add AC supply, installation arrangement, interface requirements and the purchasing problem the sample must resolve. A replacement enquiry also needs the original charger identity and any battery conversion history.
If charging time is important, define the required window and evaluation conditions. If the concern is mounting, provide the actual space and request a drawing. If it is BMS integration, exchange the protocol requirements early. These different tasks need different evidence; a general power-on demonstration cannot answer them all.
Ask whether a sample can be supplied, at what cost and under which terms. The current industrial-line MOQ of 30 units does not establish a separate sample quantity, price or availability. Those arrangements need confirmation.
Keep receiving inspection separate from electrical testing
Staff can record packaging and visible condition without performing electrical measurements. Photograph the packaging, product label and safely accessible exterior. Note apparent shipping damage or a mismatch with the requested configuration. Do not energize a damaged or unidentified unit.
Opening a mains-powered charger, testing insulation, measuring exposed contacts or evaluating abnormal behavior requires qualified personnel and the appropriate procedure. Purchasing staff should stop at identification and safe external observations, then arrange the necessary technical assessment.
| Review stage | Records to collect | Release condition |
|---|---|---|
| Receipt | Package condition, received items and identity | No unresolved damage or missing critical items |
| Configuration | Model, revision, profile, AC version and interface | Matches the agreed sample request |
| Documents | Datasheet, instructions, drawings and applicable evidence | Enough information for the intended evaluation |
| Battery match | Pack requirements and charger comparison | Proposed combination is approved for evaluation |
| Qualified assessment | Agreed conditions, observations and results | Acceptance criteria are met or exceptions resolved |
| Batch approval | Final configuration and controlled-change terms | Purchase order identifies what must be reproduced |
Read the label against the quotation
Check model, input information, output designation and identifying marks. Compare them with the quotation and supplied datasheet. If they differ, ask the supplier for an explanation before choosing the most convenient value.
Distinguish nominal battery voltage from charging voltage, and battery capacity in Ah from charger current in A. Ask for the approved charge profile. A family wattage name cannot replace a model-specific output table or confirm the behavior at your AC supply.
For optional features such as Bluetooth or CAN, confirm that the delivered sample includes the agreed option. A catalogue picture from the same family is not sufficient. Record hardware and software identity where relevant so that later orders can be compared accurately.
Confirm the connection and installation documents
Collect the exact connector identity, drawing, polarity and control requirements. Include cable and vehicle-side information. Do not approve a sample because the plug fits. If documentation is missing, resolve it before the qualified evaluation.
For an installed charger, confirm dimensions, orientation, mounting and cooling requirements. For an external unit, review handling, placement and storage instructions. A short bench demonstration does not establish suitability for a closed vehicle compartment.
If BMS communication is required, agree the protocol and behavior with both suppliers. Request the evidence needed to evaluate commands, limits and relevant fault handling safely. Do not bypass controls to make the sample appear successful.
Request the compliance pack for this configuration
Collect documents relevant to the destination market and actual product features. Check model lists, manufacturer identity and variant coverage. A sample with radio features or changed electrical components may need different evidence from a basic family version.
Use the US and EU compliance-document checklist to organize the request. CE, FCC and RoHS address different questions; none automatically proves vehicle compatibility or a particular IP rating. A document pack should correspond to the product being evaluated, not simply be available somewhere in the supplier's catalogue.
Agree how performance will be assessed
Ask qualified personnel to evaluate the proposed combination using a documented procedure within the battery, vehicle and charger limits. Record battery identity, starting condition where relevant, AC supply, installation, profile and revisions.
If the supplier provides results, ask whether they describe this configuration and which acceptance criteria were used. Do not transfer a timing result from another battery or accept a generic test video as proof of complete compatibility. Record exceptions and resolve them before approving the batch.
Different quantities or applications may require separate acceptance groups. A successful motorcycle sample does not establish approval for a golf cart or forklift battery with similar nominal voltage. Keep the combination specific.
Turn the accepted sample into an order specification
Keep the approved sample identity, datasheet, interface drawing, profile, software information and label artwork together. State which items must remain unchanged and which changes require notice or renewed evaluation. Agree the batch inspection requirements separately; one accepted sample does not demonstrate every production unit's condition.
For a battery charger bulk order quotation, provide quantities by approved configuration and list any unresolved requirements clearly. Use the industrial charger enquiry page to start the discussion. Branding labels are available from 200 units, subject to artwork confirmation. Typical production is approximately 15-30 days depending on quantity and customization; confirm the actual schedule and allow separate shipping time.
Questions buyers ask
For each acceptance item, record accepted, unresolved or not applicable, with the reviewer and supporting record identified. Keep batch approval open if a required item remains unresolved. An intact sample is not necessarily approved for use, and sample approval does not replace agreed production inspection.
Is a power-on video enough to approve a sample?
No. It does not establish the battery match, profile, installation, controls or all agreed performance criteria.
Can purchasing staff perform electrical safety tests?
Only appropriately qualified personnel should perform such work using approved equipment and procedures. Receiving observations are a separate task.
Does MOQ 30 mean we can buy one sample?
No separate sample arrangement has been established by that statement. Confirm sample terms with the supplier.
Send us the battery details
Include the battery voltage and capacity in Ah, chemistry, charging limits, AC supply and connector photos. For a replacement, add the original charger label and vehicle model.
